Strangers Become Friends, and Friends Become StrangersOn June 17, 2017 by Chelsianne
Welcome to the first of many Chelsi Chats. My thoughts spilled out for your enjoyment. 🙂
Strangers walk into our lives,
at different pit stops of our lives,
for all of our lives.
We are products of our past, but we don’t have to be prisoners of it.”
Some individuals stop us in our tracks and make us take notice of them. Before you took the time to recognize the interlocking of your life and their life, the final stitch is tacked, and one more piece has been added to the quilt of your life.
Ponder with me, this new person, do you trudge through the troubles of your past, and recount the mistakes you have made, or the wrongs you have done?
Is that being honest and upfront?
Or do you allow the individual to learn about you from your interactions of the present?
If you believe the latter then you will have succeeded at creating a rapport based on pains of your past, as many do. However, what if for once, when you meet new people, you allow them to make their own judgment of you. You don’t sell yourself based on your past trials and what you’ve overcome. Rather, you truly allow your actions to speak for themselves, and you truly allow a stranger to get to know you in a whole new way?
What if this is the way we lived our lives. Not bringing up the past to start a future?
Would we succumb to justifying the wrongs of our past because we are never forced to be held accountable?
On another face of the die that we roll, what about the friends, and family who know about our pasts? Do we let go of individuals that know our greatest, or heaviest secrets to start a new alongside strangers?
I ask a follow-up question. Can a loved one learn to see you with fresh eyes, like a stranger, or will they always view you through an old lens?
When you can truly move forward with yourself, forgiving the trials of your past there is no wrong found in NOT succumbing to individuals tying the past to your ankles as cinderblocks.
From the ashes of your past, you chose to rise. At this point in your life, you know who you are, what you have done, and what you will do.
Allow new people to know you as you are today because your past is behind you, and you can never go back.
The future is always ahead. All you have is the present.
Live it. Be bold and brave, but never cruel, live the best life for you.
Today, one day at a time. The rest is up to you. Go, be you, everybody else is taken.
Thanks for reading I cannot wait to hear your thoughts!!
